RE-ENACTMENT OF THE

BATTLE ON 18 JUIN 1815

Join us on 22 and 23 June 2019

The Memorial will participate in the traditional re-enactment of the fighting on 18 June 1815. The public can relive combat scenes from 18 June with all the actors on the battlefield and hundreds of re-enactors.

The spectators will be delighted to see the re-enactors emulate the movements of the soldiers more than 200 years later.

This year, you’ll have the possibility to visit three camps: the camp of the Allied forces at the Hougoumont farm and the two French camps: at the foot of the Lion’s Mound (bivouac of the Empire cavalry) and at the Napoleon’s Last Headquarters. Catering and refreshments will be available in the different camps. A free shuttle will be also available from the Memorial to the Hougoumont Farm and to the Napoleon’s Last Headquarters.

On Sunday morning, you’ll experience the battle again with the attack on the Hougoumont Farm by the French troops! The battle will begin at 10:30 am and will end around noon.
